Teaching non-english students our language by using the ocean literacy tools is a great idea and I am very happy to be a part of it. Nature has her own voice, one that we can all learn from, especially the sea. Some of the greatest novels ever written ( Moby Dick; Lord Jim; Youth; Logbook of the Sea of Cortez ) have used the ocean as a major theme and I do hope that we can expand the ocean literacy program to get works like these translated perhaps, or somehow made available to our students who are trying to learn our language. Reading, I think, is one of the best ways to learn, with a little help from a friend of course! Pacem em Maribus
