One day event at the NOAA Eco-Discovery Center in Key West, April 1,2011.
OceanSpeak is a collaborative project of the College of Exploration, Literacy Volunteers of America and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The goal is to use technology, the ocean, and NOAA places and resources to assist Literacy Volunteers help non-English speakers learn English. This pilot project began on 1 October 2010 and will run for two years, with the possibility of a roll-out nationally. The pilot project will be in south-east Florida with a focus on the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, and other Florida based NOAA activities and resources including NOAA’s Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML) and the Southeast Fisheries Science Center(SEFSC)
